The easiest therapy you haven’t tried…
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
As simple as taking a nap
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) works by placing a patient in a pressurized chamber where they breathe the circulating oxygen, dramatically increasing the amount of oxygen that dissolves directly into the blood plasma. Under these elevated pressures, oxygen diffuses through the lungs into the plasma rather than being carried only by red blood cells, allowing it to reach tissues where circulation is limited or where red blood cells cannot easily pass. This enhanced oxygen delivery supports the repair of damaged tissue, reduces inflammation, and promotes angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels essential for long-term healing. Because oxygen can permeate into these restricted areas, HBOT helps restore cellular function even in poorly perfused regions. The therapy is considered safe when administered under professional supervision, though it requires proper screening. While HBOT is FDA-approved for certain medical conditions, it is also commonly used “off label” to support recovery and healing in other complex or chronic conditions. At Happy Valley Bodyworks, the soft chamber is operated by two IBUM-certified technicians who adhere strictly to all safety and operational protocols to ensure the highest standards of care.
Therapy protocols:
Chronic Inflammatory conditions
Orthopedic Injury
General wellness and athletic performance
Neurological injury
Chronic Lyme Disease
Long COVID
And more
Limitations:
We are currently not accepting clients that are under active chemotherapy orders, acute Lyme disease (Yes to chronic Lyme), mid to late stage dementia due to safety considerations.
We provide therapy services for autistic individuals who are considered high-functioning. Participation requires a referral or prescription from the individual’s overseeing pediatrician.
Typical service:
60-120 minutes in length and require multiple sessions for optimum outcomes.
Protocols vary - 2-6 hours per week for a
Loading phase of 4-6 weeks.
Maintenance phase 1-2 hours per week
Packages are available in 10 and 20 units. One unit = 60min. Oxygen supplementation is not used.
Angiogenesis occurs around session 20-40.
Pediatric information:
Pediatric clients must enter the chamber with a parent or guardian. Individuals must be able to clear ears. Consider bringing soft toys and books. No electronics are permitted in the chamber. The chamber is large enough for a child to sit up but an adult will have to lay down. There is no up-charge for entering with your child.
Neuro-Developmental disorders need oxygen!
In our community children that are in therapy for a variety of neuro-development, sensory processing and other delays are a perfect candidate for this therapy. The below literature links, review the need for ATP at the cell mitochondria, reduction of global inflammation and other metabolic markers that can all benefit from more oxygen saturation:
Several recent systematic reviews and literature surveys report a substantive association between mitochondrial dysfunction and a range of neurodevelopmental disorders (including motor delays, speech delay, intellectual disability and ASD), noting abnormal metabolic biomarkers, mtDNA variants, and mitochondrial enzyme deficits in many affected children.
.
Consider bringing therapy items from your child’s OT/ PT/ oral myofunction/ eye therapist to do while in the chamber. If the time is already scheduled in the day for home exercise and therapy program, why not do it in the chamber and increase the benefits for your child. Caregivers, you will see differences in yourself as well by taking a dive with your child.
General HBOT information:
Wear 100% cotton clothing
No lotions or body scents the day of you appointment
Must be able to clear ears easily
No recent chest surgery
Free of nasal congestion and fever
No electronics in the chamber
Implants must be approved by the technician
A physician script may be required
Claustrophobic? Come see the unit ahead of your scheduled appointment
IMPORTANT:
It is important to note that the client(s) must be able to move in the quadruped, kneeling, supine and seated positing with agility to enter the chamber. Our clinicians can not and will not assist with entering and exiting the chamber.
Consider stacking with your bodywork services
